"On April 7, my husband was flown from Phoenix Arizona for an emergency heart transplant evaluation and arrangements were made for me to stay at the UCLA Tiverton House. I was a stranger in Los Angeles under the most difficult circumstances and was in dire need for warmth, compassion and understanding as my husband was in critical condition with very little hope of survival. Upon arrival, your front desk staff was filled with concern and kindness, and quick to respond to my requests for local information, etc. During my entire stay, front desk personnel provided wonderful service and assistance. They are truly an asset to your organization. Having worked for the President/CEO and the Board of Directors of Best Western International for many years, I am fully aware of how important the quality of service and comfortable accommodations are - Tiverton House was superb. I especially appreciated the tea service and living room atmosphere. Even though my stay was very stressful and worrisome, your hotel was very soothing and comfortable. "A nice clean, comfortable 'home base' to nap, sleep and shower when we are so far from home when she has to stay in the hospital. Your stay is always so nice and helpful. We live over 300 miles away, but our daughter's specialists are here at UCLA. (She has a trach, g-tube and has undergone two mandibular jaw distraction surgeries in the last year. Also many other surgical procedures and tests that require anesthesia.) Thank you for providing such a warm and comfortable "Home away from home" for us and our family!"
